TrailMutt.com Hiking Trail Guides
Trail Guides from TrailMutt.com are designed to be the best possible resource for you when exploring the outdoors. We do our best to provide complete and accurate trail information, however always rely on your own judgement about current trail conditions and your own physical limitations when making decisions. If you do find that any of our trail information is outdated, send us a quick email and we'll do our best to correct the situation ASAP.
Accurately rating each hiking trail's difficulty is an inherently inaccurate estimation. Our general guidelines for trail difficulty are as follows:
Strenuous
Trail includes difficult sections that may include substantial elevation gain, steep terrain, and off-trail scrambling. Recommended for experienced hikers in good physical condition.
Moderate
Trail may include moderate elevation gain, maintained trails, and are several miles long. Recommend for most hikers in reasonable physical condition.
Easy
Outdoor recreation opportunities that require little or no hiking, suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
In addition, make sure to review the maps and elevation profiles we provide to ensure that the particular hike under consideration is suitable for everyone in your group. Total elevation gained (or lost) is often a more accurate measurement of overall physical exertion rather than just trail length.
